Yep, went to see it with my friend on Wednesday at 7:30 here at the century theater. We get there, buy the tckets, sit down, blah blah blah... Then it seemed as though the movie started with it not looking like an ad, a helicopter view of Japan. Lights were still on at that point, so everyone yelled for them off, went off, movie is a go. Every, EVERY, time that a new main character came on the screen, Light for example, all the fangirls SCREAMED for them. L got the biggest scream, friend and I swore that when he came on there would be a huge orgy behind us, we were in the second row, so when he did show, turned around... Sort of disappointed there wasn't one, but when everyone started to SHUT THE FUCK UP, some girl shouted out "I WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABIES!"
I shit you not...
It was a good movie, really it was just the first season of episodes compiled into a 2 and a half hour movie, a second is already out in Japanese, and a third is scheduled for later. The story wasn't exactly as it is in the Manga or Anime, but it was... ok... They should of made 2 versions one for people that havent seen Death Note before (so no one would be there) and another for everyone who has seen at least the Anime, and be like 5 and a half hours long to get the story RIGHT, I don't care if it's hell of long, I just wanted to see a live action representation of the Anime. They did a good job though, ofcourse some parts were gone, and some ran together. The way Misa Misa gets her Death Note is sort of mixed into one part, and a good fraction of the total episodes were gone.
But all in all it was pretty good. Am going to see the second when it comes out, the DVD for the first should be out in September, or so I am told, and I suspect the second movie, entitled "The Last Name" will be out before or near that.
Only thin I am totally pissed at them about was Misa's hair. ITS BLOND DAMN IT! NOT BLACK! And the last scene should of had the red and blue hue over Kira and L.
And at the end, the screen went to a Windows Xp Classic screen, blank background, but with the task bar on the bottom still. Funny, my friend and I were like "Well then, nice torrent."
